Simple wayfor you to test this is....

Invade russia, and run the German army flat out, with attrition switched 
on...

when you have them all down to 99% attrition,

they do not have zocs...

and see the effects there...

For thedefender in the War in Europe engine

the results can be pretty devastating...


a similar problem shows itself up in the Middle east....


If you cannot cover an open flank ...

with weekly turns...

the defender doesn't usually catch up on the curve....

hence the high odds basis for attacks and the enmeshing in zocs so to 
speak....

Stops the attacker overly exploiting a position before the defender can 
riposte

and the defender, generally cannot get his act together, usuallyon a 
significantly poorer crt...


so...you may have to also adjust the combat modelling
