Actually that is an interesting point...

BUT at this stage it is a bit of speculative request...

I am uncertain at the moment about how this may play out...

Soviet games have been played with the early war position...

The evidence coming back from this is...

Both sides are very happy to indulge in serious bloodletting,
Which is good, in terms of historicity, but is as much because with
attrition both sides felt that they could...

i.e. it is very easy to be profligate with resources...

The question is...are both sides running out of resources at a balanced
rate?

If so..the call for increased soviet resources, may well be matched by
howls of a similar type from the German commander in 1943-45
(which we are not yet seeing).

Now in terms of game editing...

Is this sustainable?

This does not seem an obvious question in its implications...

So given the request to increase resources vailable on the track....with
attrition playing....

Can we live WITH THE SAME TRACK AND RESOURCES in a non attrition game?

or are we starting to see a need for separate attrition game tracks?

Something to be handled with great care.

The key point about this is that the game should play 'out of the box' a
standard SPI/DG game...

Add attrition modelling (an overlay) and suddenly the tracks are being
claimed to need adjustment.
Since the attrition tables are mutable, and only affect games with the
attrition switch on, it would make more sense for the users to tone down
attrtion in the tables...

Something we have to sit and consider very carefully...

Adding resources to cure a soviet weakness, may actually be masking the
counterbalancing German weakness at the latter end of the game.

Since we are tweaking the Soviet player's resources, we may be tipping
the balance over the game in an unpredictable manner...certaining
perhaps disturbing the balance in the standard game...
