{Dangerous Content?} RE: [WarInEur] Anybody there?

I totally agree - but the game doesn't have an option to penalise the Brits
for it. One could ask that, if the Brits had no intention of sending a BEF,
then why did they declare war in the first place? So the whole situation is
up for grabs.

An option of say +10 PP +/- 1 for each full strength British division
not-deployed/deployed to the continent? And when Paris falls, that is the
final position. So, if the Brits have 6 full strength divisions in
continental Europe (north of Italy say), on the fall of Paris the Axis gets
4 PP permanently. [Happy to discuss these numbers.]

regards,
Noel

Historically, the British didn't have the option of not providing a BEF to
France, it was not politically possible. Why should the player have the
option not to deploy a BEF without cost?

I'm using the original CWIE game.

I always use the changing unit strengths option as I think it is much more
accurate early than having the Brits at full defence - and also with too
much attack grunt.

I don't defend France with the Brits - you cannot win - and can lose the
entire BEF. I make the UK as impregnable as possible.

If I have any spare units I scrunch North Africa before the Germs arrive.

[Well that's the theory - it doesn't always work out that way...]

Noel

There's a bit of gaming going on out there,
but no great issues coming up about problems or otherwise in the game...

How many of you out there are using Gregs version of the game in current
mode, or cyberboard?

I dare say there are quite a few with real games running att he moment...

And a question for all of you out there using Greg's game...

For future reference on the new model...

Do many of you use 'changing unit strengths'?

and...

How does this affect your approch to the defence (or otherwise) of France by
British units?

As a matter of gaming,
no sensible gamer might want to risk the BEF in that situation...

But the situation can be a little different under [option]attrition in the
new game.

Although it has not helped at all for the British prestige in my current
game...

Even with weakened units, and attrition, I was able to invest Tobruck and
storm the fortress after the Italians entered the war...

It will now be interesting...

I cannot see DAK,
but they must be there, trundling along the Via Balbia (or whatever) in a
bid to push me out of North Africa...

No contact as yet..althought a column of stuff has been detected in PR
photographs heading out of Begazi in my general direction...

At the moment, aftertheir exertions, theWestern Desert Group are sitting
around at Tobruck refitting, whilst supplies and MT support catch up from
the Delta.
