Changed jobs to a Network specialist, nothing like chasing ARPs LOL! Anyway I just wanted to chime in and say that I am continuing to play test the WitE 1st with Attack on the March rules and that it is going very well so far, but still early only game turn 13 coming up. The Germans are blowing large holes in the Sovs lines but the bodies are always replacing the losses. So far I have seen Minsk fall on turn one, a large pocket of 26 divisions around Kharkov (yeah no Kiev and a little ahead of schedule) and Typhoon has started a month early with the Germans reaching within 3 hexes of Moscow. I have panicked with the Russians and am producing emergency divisions to shore up the defenses.

Summary of rules that were added: Attack during movement is 2+COT+ZOC cost for entry hex. Infantry can force march into and through ZOC (They can actually AOM). The Russians get 3x1-4 for each unit that is built. (need warm bodies for the tank treads). The Russians get an air unit for each east corps reinforcement that enters the board (ie. 10x4-4 = 10x air). Germans can increase their air totals by one for each turn 2x air can be replaced and no losses have happened. Supply ranges are 6 for German and 4 Russian, supply effects are as follows, for every multiple of the supply range in distance you are you drop strength and movement at the rate of 2 for anything over 6 and 1 for anything 6 or less down to ½. Thus at 18 hexes a 10-8 is down two supply levels and is a 6-4. In combat for each supply level you drop you drop one table, the one exception is if the unit you are attacking is surrounded then you use table 1. Anti-tank units drop armor at the rate of -1 in 41, -2 in 42, -3 in 43 and later. This allows 10-8 to be more effective then 6-5 as it should be unless you stack more then 1 0-1-10 in a hex then it is accumulative down to ½ strength. No unit can ever be more then ½ strength reduced.

One other thing about supply, you can change the ranges by up to two by taking one from the range of your other 2 rail units. Thus you can have a 8 range and two 5 ranges, or a 7,6,5 combo etc. This allows the Germans to reach a little deeper but on a smaller frontage.

Stacking is by stacking points and both sides get 9. Corps are 3, divisions are 2, 2-5 and 3-5 are considered divisions for this, and brigades are 1. So in summer 42 the Russians could stack a fort, 5-5, 8-6, and a 0-1-10 for a total of 22 defense in a critical hex.

I am playing this solo and plan to get a group together to playtest this after I take it into 43 to see what effects the arty has on the combat, meaning I think the arty will be killed by the armor AOMs, and may change stacking to allow them to stack as divisions and thus allow a corps to be able to stack and defend their hex.

I've missed posting and reading but I had to change jobs to try and stabilize my finances, bloody NAFFTA!
