Whoa.? Some of us don't have access to the beta version of cwie2 and are waiting for the finished product.? Adding all of these options will push the delivery date further away.?? (If I were Doc, I'd make people pledge for an optional rules add on)
If you want an easy answer to the BEF problem for those who would feel deprived at not being able to attack Poland in a campaign game, have the computer automatically deploy a 10 division BEF in France and back out the builds from the production track and reinforcement cycle.

?
I've seen a number of ideas floated over the last week this email is sort of a summary.? I've probably missed a couple.? Most of the discussion is centering around Options not rule changes to the core game.? The biggest concern at the moment is how to move the game from 1939 to 2-5-40 so that the Allied player is coerced into deploying the BEF in a reasonably historic manner.? Or to turn this around, why should any sane axis player agree to start a game in 1939 when it is much more advantagous to start in 1940.
?
?
Fragile versus Permanent NTP
?
Currently the only nation with fragile NTP is Germany.??We (the test group) have discussed the possibility of making this capability available to more nations.? CW, Italy and France for sure.? If we are able to do this players, will be able to add reinforcements or builds to change availability over time.? This will give players the ability to change the computer game just like they would change the board game with house rules.? The base game plays exactly as the Dg rules state but player have a wide choice of options to tune the game to taste.
?
Changing Units Strengths
?
Expand the option so that players can select the degree of reduction, the timetable and any steps toward full strength.? This will allow players who think the CW are still overrated as 5-10 to make further reductions.? Add the French with a selectable reduction menu as well.
?
Allied Sea Supply.
?
Additional Option requiring the assignment of Allied NTP to supply missions in order to trace supply into the Med or around the horn.
?
?
Expanded u-boat effects
?
Additional option that subtracts or adds NTP whenever the U-boat war goes extremely badly for the Allies or extremely well?for the Axis? Historical Build rates and losses would see this as a neutral option but if the?Germans ignore the U-boat war then the Allies will start getting free NTP as reinforcements, but if the Germans shift additional resources to the U-boat war they will reduce the Allied sealift and supply capabilities.
?
Additional Political Points for BEF
?
Add triggers for Yugoslavia and Vichy France to join the Axis.? Reduce activation levels for Spain and Turkey.? Tie numbers of CW Divisons in France North of hex row C???? to either award of political points that might activate Hungary, Rumania and Yugoslavia early or to reduce the level required to activate Spain or Turkey.
?
Additional Political Points for BOB
?
Add political points to encourage CW to fly during the Battle of Britain.? For example, for each Clear weather turn the Axis fly air superiority on the West Front after France either surrenders or Vichy is formed in 1940 the Axis receive one Political point, but for each?turn the Allies eliminate?at least one?Axis AP the Axis lose one political point.? Another suggested method was to tie port supression to political point awards.
?
Does that about sum it up.
?
?
What type of priorities should we assign to the above.? If we can identify the most desireable ones we can try to work up the "rules" as a series of if then statements etc to make the coding requirements as clear as possible.
