I don't think there is any great technical issue in running the end of the  
war on in coding terms, the real issue is the lack of any effective data to  
insert to underpin te situation...
 
Does the US ramp up the war effort again? Or , faced with more of the same,  
do they cut the gordian knot and try to end the war quickly by using the new  
weapon? Unpalatable? But what President coud resist the voters if Japan had  
surrendered under it? The precedent for Europe would have been  inescapable.
