I'd like to see all three sides production systems analized and fixed if
necessary. The Allies should be able to build the stuff on their
reinforcement track if they want. The same for the Soviets. Their peace
time production should allow them to produce the 1941 OOB. If it does that
then I could care less about what type of units they build.
One should be careful what one wishes for.
We have an unspoken assumption....
Fix the faults,
and the simulation will follow...
In that regard, Sergio has an important point, correcting 'issues' looks
like 'Panzer Pushing', because, if left to itself, it has that effect, unless it
addresses other less obvious issues. Some ahistorical effects are left in the
game to balance out these imperfections.
In fact fixing the ability to produce the historical OBs is undoubtedly the
correct simulation response, but we must be careful, as we are assuming that
the simulation itself is not to some degree 'broken' in as much as we then
find that the correct OB does not itself deliver the 'historical results.
In playtesting I will wager quite a lot of 'bending' was done to arrve at
the historical result, conveniently ignoring the fact that some of this was
being done in contravention of the simelation, simply because there were
deadlines and it was the easiest and most effective way to 'cut the gordian knot',
rather than spend weeks that simply were commercially unnacceptable,
correcting issues, that might reach back deeper into the simulation.
