Being somewhat able to use the keyboard once again,

Some pertinent questions arising out of the testing of the game.

Poland 1939:-

How real is "real"?

Does the classic CWIE (I , II et al) simulate the Polish campaign well?
Do the Poles last as well as they should?

In the standard games without some of the optional Polish rules, the
destruction is more a formality.
Yet with some of the optional rules, Poland lasts a deal longer.
With the new windows attritional rules this can be spun into a longer
period, but, as several think, with significantly heavier losses, losses
that the Germans can well do without.
On the other hand, losses to the German army, ITRW, were not exactly
trivial, although to the high command those losses were cheap when put
up against the destruction of the Polish state.

Without advanced attrition, the german bandwagon can finish the Poles
and roll rapidly into a victorious winter campaign in the west,
with the need to refit and reeequip the cutting edge of the Panzer
force, a winter campaign is more "problematical". The overwhelming fear
being one of getting "bogged down" in a slogging match that bleeds the
Wehrrmacht white.
