Have been considering  this over the last couple of days. With the 
current crop of attrition effects, it seems to me that:-

1. We can scrap the "flip a 6-5 rule"

and
2. We can scrap the reduced range for supply rule in the first year.

3.We may even be able to scrap the chaining of MSUs rules.

A lot of these are simulated by the wear and tear on MSU rules.
OK it does not cater for the railheads, but that may, or may not, need 
any tampering with.

If it works then we may be somewhere along the line of developing a 
logistical system that may need no special bending to deal with the 
Eastern front in the first year. If the rules start to respond in effect 
like that, then it is more likely that the effects are becoming more 
fundamentally accurate...and cater better for the game without any 
awkward kludges.

It is by no means perfect, but it might make the fall of shot a little 
way nearer the real world approximation.

"Special" rules tend to indicate that the natural rules underpinning the 
simulation are not yet finalised, as they fail to accommodate some 
aspects of their role.
