[47.18] Surrender: Norway surrenders, and all Norwegian Forces are removed from play, at the end of the player turn of the player that controls Norway when all Norwegian Ports are occupied by Enemy units and there are no units allied to Norway that are in Norway and in supply by sea.
Can some one parse the above sentence for me?
SPI 34.16 reads Norway never surrenders. It is defined as occupied whenever there are no Friendly ground combat units in Norway.
CWIE1 27.3 reads Norway surrenders when all ports are captured. It is defined as occupied when there are no friendly ground combat units in Norway.
Surrender in game terms is a program switch that changes the ownership of the country's hexes, ports, and railroads.
So if I understand the sequence of events from CWIE1. If the Axis sail into every port then Norway would surrender and the Axis would gain the use of the Norwegian rail system to trace supply. The Allies would counter invade, which would put friendly forces in Norway and keep the one Norwegian 3-4 in the game. The Germans would have to force the French and CW units out of Norway before the last Norwegian 3-4 would surrender.
If I read the DG living rule correctly, the fate of Norway hinges on the supply status of the Friendly forces. Now for the Question. If I suppress the amph beachhead that the Allies are using for supply does that automatically cause Norway to switch to occupied?
