Karl;
You are going to learn to hate me....
I have found an issue - starting with my 1939 game.
NO Allied Production.
Battle of the Atlantic ASW Warfare option selected.
In four quick runs - by Cycle 13 all of the German U-boats have been sunk.
In fact in either/both cycle 11 or 12 each time 2 U-boats were sunk in a
single combat. If I remember correctly in 1939 there is a 1/6 chance for a
single U-boat to sink and never a chance for 2. I also noticed that when
this happens I am asked "since the Battle of the Atlantic is going poorly"
if I want to trade APs for Uboats - even if the Allies are not behind and
there are no U-boats left.
If I run through with the ASW warfare UNSELECTED this does not happen.
Second issue- reinforcements.
Same game - Germans are set to receive 2AP, 2UB and 1Surf in cycle 12 then
in Cycle 13 they get 1UB and in Cycle 1 they get another UB.
I put the reinforcements in the "Track" section in the game editor. The 12th
cycle reinforcements are shown in the lower left "points" display of the
reinforcement screen but are never added to the naval pools. The 2 APs do
arrive. Again in cycle 13 and Cycle 1 the UBoat shows up in the
reinforcement screen but are never added to the Naval pool.
And this led to the third issue.
While trying to debug the above issue I got into the editor and removed the
reinforcements from the "Track" and tried to put them into the German "in
progress" section in the proper cycles. They were placed there but if I
saved the edit, exited and reloaded the edit all of the units disappeared
from the "in Progress" section. I know the game is saving correctly because
when I reloaded the game in the editor the points were removed from the
"track".
And talking about saving files in the editor I come to the fourth issue.
I found that the editor will not save a modification of an existing file. I
loaded my file using the "modify existing" file. Gave it a new name. When I
hit save it said I was saving - but it never created the file.
You can tell I was bored at work today.
