Greetings from Romania !
2006 hasn't been as good for my FTF gaming.
The few somewhat-grognardy-in-intentions guys
I know here stopped almost completely playing,
becoming ever busier, even after buying some
enticing new games. [Money and time don't mix...]
One success getting two younger (16-17, see
Warcards below) to play "Victory in the Pacific".
My PBEM gaming (mostly Cyberboard) expanded
somewhat from 33 games finished in 2005 to 42
games in 2006. Mostly improving at my favorites
(Tigers in the Mist, Breakout: Normandy, Victory in the
Pacific...) and finding simpler games, like Axis&Allies
with the TripleA interface and Ladder room.
A few newly played: Czechoslovakia '38 (Command
#24), Fire in the Sky (still learning), Panzergruppe Guderian.
Thanks to the friendly members of Consim-L !
I found out the hard way to have less appetite for
learning new quirky massive rules. Also I'm very sorry
I had to be forfeited two tournament games (Paths of
Glory) for excessive delays/stopping in a period of
stressful cumulative real-life pressure.
Rising much: Warcards, the Romanian CCG. In 2006
I played in 11 official and ~10 unofficial tournaments.
Recently was coopted as playtester/design advisor.
(At least a game to attract enough fine young minds here...)
There is also a Warhammer group in Bucuresti, they
had some 6 Fantasy tournaments this year. One I watched.
Intention to debate, analyze and discuss... as ever !
Also... my "coming out" - after my official diagnosis of
Asperger's Syndrome, I volunteered to the Romanian
Autism forum with translations of nice articles, giving
hope to some confused parents...
Best wishes !
