I received a free sample of the Weapons of War series, this one on US Navy
Carriers. If anyone is interested, you can have it ... let me know how much
it means to you in case I get more than one response :).
It's a small 24 page illustrated book with a dvd. I haven't watched the dvd,
but skimmed thru the book; mildly interesting with a few words and a lot of
pictures & maps (2 pages each on things like Early Carriers, Carriers of
WWII, Defending the Carrier, etc.) Weapons of War is apparently a series,
and every 3 weeks or so you get a new dvd for $17.95 + 1.95
shipping/handling. The dvd is supposed to include combat action video. They
refer to a website www.imp-usa.com if you're interested. (I have nothing to
do with them and since I haven't even seen the dvd, I'm not recommending it
or anything.)
Trivia question (according to the book): What 3 countries other than the US
are the only ones to fly conventional fixed-wing aircraft off ships? Scroll
down for answer below:

Answer: France, Russia and Brazil.
I was surprised by Brazil and found it interesting: It's really the French
carrier Foch, recommissioned Sao Paulo, equipped with A-4KU and TA-4KU
Skyhawks purchased from Kuwait. Wow!
