I used to work in that area, so I think I know the store in question. I
remember that it did have an impressive collection of older titles,
though the prices didn't strike me as particularly reasonable. I made
another visit but the storefront was dark and appeared to be empty.
This may have been as much as 10 years ago, so I don't know its
current status.

Wow, these are certainly polar opposites. I don't have Smithsonian
Gettysburg but my impression is that it's AH's version of SPI's "Blue
& Gray" design -- low complexity, quick playing, and not very faithful
to ACW combat. Gettysburg '77 has the infamous Advanced
Game: high complexity, slow playing, and in some ways an
impressive model of ACW combat. Unfortunately the wealth of
great ideas was killed by shoddy development. (G'77 also contains
two other versions, a Basic Game that's probably comparable to
Smithsonian Gettysburg and a brigade level Intermediate Game
that's merely average.)

Personally I'd say other titles on the "lower priority" list are more
worthy of being added to your collection, but YMMV.
