I received three sign-ups for this Blind PBeM of this SPI game on its
thirty year anniversary.
For posterity's sake I submit the following house rules for posterity:
Because it is a blind game there will be a few house rules:
A. Player vs. non-Player civilizations. You will not know immediatly
if an encountered civilization will be a Player or non-Player
civilization. The only way to tell is by certain signs. Examples:
1. If you encounter a lone Stargate between the spiral arms, the odds
are it is a Player.
2. If you're both friendly to each other and you notice the number of
StarGates the other side is larger than what is possible for a
non-Player civilization, then you know it is a Player.
B. Military Intelligence of encountered civilizations.
1. You will not know the locations of Neutral or Hostile Stargates.
(Except as encountered.) The only way to determine this is by passing
through possible hexes. At least Neutral civilizations will let you
pass through freely.
2. The location of all openly friendly civilization Stargates will be
revealed.
C. Other house rules may be invoked on a contingency basis. (I'm
thinking of using deadlines or else the move is a pass for example.)
