I like Panzergrenadier, especially the two desert-war games. In the non-desert games,
I'm bothered by the same problem that always bothers me in non-desert WW II tactical
games, which is that the players know where everything is. (They do in the desert
games too, of course, but it's less unrealistic there.)

Therefore one of the things I still like about Panzerblitz is that its simplistic
turn sequence allows this problem to be solved, by double-blind play. Amid the woods
and hills, double-blind Panzerblitz is more realistic than Wotanspiel (i.e.,
non-doubleblind) Panzergrenadier, or anything else. Yes, you need a third person to
referee, but every time I've played with a new referee, he has said something at the
end of the game to the effect of "that was at least as much fun as playing."

Another thing I like about platoon-scale desert games is that the combination of the
scale and the desert war's small-size battles means that you can play a scenario
that's a battle you've heard of. You can't do that elsewhere, as the PG Bulge
scenarios show: they are all small subsets of the larger battle.
