Hi again
Just another post, two in a week a record. I think it's what the internet
is all about. Its not like the magazines where you might have to wait months
for an article on the game you're interested in here a medium where you can
sign up to talk and game on the one particular game 24 hours a day if you
(and the rest of the group) want. I think it's a bonus for the hobby and can
only be doing it good. I do agree though that this site has got a lot
quieter than the past though and it might be because people are
specializing. I think though that a group like this is a great entry point
for someone stating out in the hobby and the internet.
Regards Neil
That's a very interesting observation, since my (limited) perspective
is that the exact opposite is true. CONSIM has had less traffic in
the last 6 months than any other period I can think of. As for
Usenet, wargaming-related posts on 'rec.games.board' have
essentially vanished -- according to Google I've posted exactly one
message in the last 3 years. ConsimWorld seems to be as busy as
ever, but the signal-to-noise ratio there went down the toilet years
ago (at least in the folders I follow). I imagined that Yahoo groups
picked up the slack, and only today learned otherwise:

So my question to Alan (and anybody else who cares to reply) is,
where have all the wargaming discussions gone? Is
BoardGameGeek (which I rarely check) the hot place? Have IM's
and/or Chat Rooms (which I don't bother with) taken over? Or is it
simply non-interactive websites pouring out a flood of information?
