[Consim-l] After Action Report - PanzerBlitz Scenario 6

Hi Tracy!

just to let you know, I did get your message, on consim-l no less!

The number of lists in your header is impressive, and discouraging. The
reason you almost correctly do not antcipate a response from consim is that we
have stupidly fractured our hobby.

What possible benefit is there in having:
panzerblitz at yahoogroups
avalonhillgames at yahoogroups
Avalonhillplayers at yahoogroups
boardwargaming at yahoogroups.com
consimlist at yahoogroups.com,
war-games at yahoogroups.com
stavka at yahoogroups.com

to say nothing of the hundreds of folders on consimworld and the discussion
boards maintained by each publisher.

Rather than dropping each of these lists a message "to keep them alive", we'd
do better to ask each list owner to drop the list entirely. Let's settle on
one, common, list with lots of traffic. What Consim-L used to be...

I guarantee you that those interested in Panzerblitz might also be interested
in say PanzerLeader. And people interested in those probably wouldn't mind
hearing about other Avalon Hill titles. And that group might even be
interested in other wargames by other publishers.

I would suggest we use consimworld folders for individual games, and some form
of the old consim for general wargaming. If that needs to be on yahoo, then
so be it. But this multiplicty of lists and websites etc. means too many of
us will never hear of new and related wargames. And posters, like you and me,
will continue to be discouraged by the lack of response.

We have stupidly fractured our hobby. we should work at pulling together by
reducing the number of channels.

Mike
